Technical sheet
A car park at night, three men, and an argument about which of the things they just saw was real and which was generated. One of them is wearing a Boredom Studio t-shirt, which is either a credit or a confession.
The joke is that the argument is happening inside the thing being argued about. Nothing in the frame is real — not the car park, not the diner, not the men — and the film keeps a completely straight face about it for forty-five seconds.
It sits at the opposite end of the range from Lacoste on purpose. That one had to be beautiful. This one had to be funny, in Italian, with comic timing that survives a cut — which is a much harder thing to generate than a storm sky.
How it was made
A joke lives in the pause before the reply and the length of the reaction shot. None of that is generated — it is decided at the edit, frame by frame, exactly as it would be in a television studio.
Three characters, in and out of coverage, across a car park and an interior. Comedy needs the audience to read a face instantly, so the cast has to stay stable through every angle — otherwise the audience is decoding instead of laughing.
